This coin's an upgrade to the first one of these that my father bought me years ago for a birthday. It was his way of saying that, though he was a pacifist, he understood my love and involvement with the sport of boxing. I'd never seen the type before and was floored

The cestus is something like a boxing glove, "but were made with leather strips and sometimes filled with iron plates or fitted with blades or spikes, and used as weapons." (Wikipedia).
