These Sumatran coins were minted sometime between ~900 to 1300 AD before falling out of favor in exchange for Islamic gold and Chinese coppers. Despite being simply referred to as gold coins, these native Sumatran pieces are actually an electrum alloy. Krisadaolarn published a few XRF tests of some of these, they range a little bit but are roughly 70% gold, 23% silver, 5% copper, and trace lead and iron.

How fun! I am always on my phone on CT. Now that I am in front of a computer I finally see I have 434! First I have to catch @dougsmit and his inspiring and informative posts (don't mock drivel. That's all I dole out!) and then I am gunnin for @Bing 's record!

Oh my!!.......Has this thread turned into a ''How many times I've posted'' thread ?......I've really enjoyed the freedom of this thread , being able to see coins that I didn't even know existed or really nice examples of others. But as to '''I've posted XXXX'''' I find a bit ODD!??

If it's a record, it's rather dubious. I can think of many other records I would like to hold.
