    Always happy to oblige with this massive piece of history during a time regarded as the most pivotal in early Roman existence:

    ROMAN REPUBLIC. Anonymous. AE Aes Grave Triens (92.37 gms), Rome Mint, ca. 225-217 B.C. VERY FINE.
    Cr-35/3a; TV-53. Obverse: Helmeted head of Minerva left; four pellets (mark of value) below; all set upon raised disk; Reverse: Prow right; four pellets (mark of value) below; all set upon raised disk. A pleasing specimen despite its crudeness, with charming green surfaces. A test cut across Minerva's face is noted for completeness.

    Shows conquest of Cheras & Pandyas, depicting Chola's royal emblem tiger in the middle, flanked by Pandya's Twin Fishes, and the Chera's bow (off-centered line behind the tiger) all under a single umbrella. Rev says Yudhamalla aka one who's strong in battle.

    Not sure where the the line is drawn but Mysore is pretty south. Also apologies if this is too modern, much of India's coinages were produced via ancient methods up until the modern period.

Rev: [ROMA]; goddess (Pax or Juno Regina) in biga r., holding sceptre and reins in l. hand and branch in r. hand; below, elephant’s head with bell attached. 17mm, 3.88g. Ref: RRC 262/1.
