    Rev: ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ, Hygieia, feeding serpent from patera, and Asklepios, leaning on serpent-entwined staff, standing facing one-another.

    One of 3 issues signed by Xenocles and Harmoxenos who are pro-Roman magistrates during the Rome-Pontic times. The others are Dolphin & Trident and Roma. Interestingly that era normally tries to have 3 magistrates on the coins but they never bothered.

    Arabian Himyarites of modern-day Yemen, circa 1st century AD. Famous for trading myrrh and frankincense with the Romans.
    A scyphate coin with male heads on both sides, shows a trident on obv and Himyar script on the rev (idk what it says!)

    The idea must have come from the Byzantines but the Hungarian pieces are consistently well struck and round in comparison. ex FSR 2011

    Here's a Martinusdaalder, County of Horn, Philip de Montmorency, 1540-56.

    The obverse of this coin depicts St. Martin and the beggar, a popular theme on coinage of the 16th-17th centuries, especially with the coinage of the Republic of Lucca.

    The obverse legend includes ...SANCTVS MARTIN....
