As I get carried away with notes on the coin, not surprising that I am often - too late.
L Macius Philippus denarius.jpg L. Marcius Philippus, 57 BC, AR denarius, Rome mint
Obv: Diademed head of Ancus Marcius right; lituus behind, labelled ANCVS below so that we know it is Ancus Marcius the 4th king of Rome and common ancestor to all gens Marcia. Among many other notable Roman figures, Julius Caesar traced his lineage to Ancus Marcius via the Reges branch of the family. Marcius Porcius Cato (Cato "The Younger") married the daughter of the moneyer.
Rev: Equestrian statue right on arcade of five arches; flower below statue, PHILIPPVS downward to left, labelled to ensure we know the name of the moneyer , A Q V A (MAR) within arches, labelled so that we recognize the Marcian Aqueduct, an aqueduct 61,710.5 paces long (7,463 paces above ground). An interesting note on the name referenced by Pliny. The equestrian statue not labelled, but presumed to be Quintus Marcius Rex who built the Aqueduct, Rome's third, ordered by the Senate in 144 BC.[*] Agrippa repaired it in 33 BC and Augustus added to it with the Aqua Augusta.
    Ref: Crawford 425/1
What remains today of this aqueduct? (PD image from wikipedia)
    upload_2020-4-12_9-59-50.png
And a bit of enthusiasm from Pliny on the clear, cool, and healthful waters of the Aqueduct: "Clarissima aquarum omnium in toto orbe frigoris salubritatisque palma praeconio urbis Marcia est, inter reliqua deum munera urbi tributa."
