    Septimius Severus denarius
Obv:– L SEPT SEV PERT AVG IMP VII-I, Laureate head right
Rev:– ARAB ADIABENIC, Victory advancing left holding wreath and palm (R of ARAB corrected over B)
    Minted in Laodicea-ad-Mare. A.D. 196-197
    Ref:– Cohen -, BMCRE -, RIC -.

The reverse refers to victory over Niger. To hide the fact that this was a civil war, it is phrased as victory over Arabs and Adiabenians, who aided Niger's cause.

To keep this thread going, I'm going to cheat a little. It's not third century (it's fourth), but it's neither Gallic nor Claudius Gothicus:

That I would have preferred it if your coin had been posted first (ie. You won) because your coin is more interesting than mine and the topic you chose was more interesting than mine (I think rare female empress is cooler than a siliqua of Valens or Gratian).

Look, I was trying to pay you and your coin a compliment.
