Floating roof Penny

    Is the floating roof a actual thing is it a error or is it cause the lines are so thin that after time they wear off just curious cause I was looking at some penny's and I believe I found one

    It's minted that way. It is the result of an over polished die. It is not a variety, it is not a mint error. It is just a late die stage of that particular die but could also happen on other dies if they are over polished.

    I know pictures it's been a little bit since I've been on here finally got some time to do some coin hunting again life has been crazy new job new baby but all is good now glad to be back on again
