If I think the person selling it is asking too much for what I think it's worth, I just won't buy it. If I don't trust my own opinion, I can get the opinions of others for free (hear of the internet perhaps?). There's nothing I need a TPG to do for me that's worth paying for. If the internet came into exitance before 1986 TPGs might not even exist today, because there wouldn't be a need for them; the information you needed could be easily accessed for free or next to it.
