There is a LOT more to this drama than that. Here is a recap of this weeks episode of "As the coin turns"

1. A guy goes onto CC asking for information about a VERY rare 1858 IHC, one that is so rare everyone there was in agreement that it needed to be sent to the one lone person in the world (according to them) who could verify it, and then once it was verified it needed to be sent to a grading company.

2. That same day, the exact same coin gets posted for sale.

3. The OP of this thread replies to that thread that he has now seen the coin on ebay and was a bit miffed that the person offering it for sale wouldn't have given everyone at CC a heads up that it was for sale. He essentially said it was kind of a douche move.

4. The OP of THAT thread (the one originally asking for info on the super duper rare IHC) claims it is not his coin up for sale on ebay and that the pics are obviously stolen. What makes it a bit more intriguing is that the coin is for sale along with a woman's handbag (a pricey one when bought new) and a bunch of teen/young adult clothing worth no more than 100 bucks per lot. So now peoplare are wondering if perhaps this stuff has all been stolen from the same place. it is purely conjecture at this point but it gets minds racing to investigate.

5. The ebay seller suddenly appears in the CC thread to stake claim to the coin, accuse everyone of being dirty rotten scoundrels, and gives his email address for all who wish to apologize profusely.

5. The OP of THIS thread, along with several others in the CC thread, verify that both coins are identical, and that one person has to be lying if they are not the same person altogether. Members ask both parties to submit a picture, framing the coin with 4 paperclips.

6. The ebay seller can't figure out how to attach a picture to a post, so he emails a member of that forum with a picture of the coin and the score of this weeks 41-14 Alabama vs. Michigan score written underneath. The picture is incredibly crisp and appears to be unaltered or photo shopped according to all who view it there, including many who are self professed photo shop pros.

7. The moderators at CC have taken the issue private suddenly, and are no longer "comfortable" with the dispute being handled in public for reasons unknown. the OP of that thread has not posted anything in the thread, but that may be because of the new gag order issued by the moderators there.

8. A member here demonstrated that he was in fact able to doctor a photograph to write a word under the original photograph, questioning the legitimacy of the "proof" offered by the ebay seller.

9. Members of the CC community have discovered that this coin was sold on Heritage slabbed as a PROBLEM coin, and has now been taken out of the slab and the seller is clearly trying to hide the fact that it has problems.

Whew......thats all this week folks. Turn in next week for the (hopeful) conclusion of "As the coin turns". I'm off to guard America's freedom by building a concrete culvert (I still haven't figured out what one has to do with the other, but as we like to say, if the culvert doesn't get built the terrorists win).
