so after talking in a thread a little while ago about trying to get a nice a black eagle, and after going to the coin store and seeing some in hand, I took the plunge. when I got 1899 I was so awe struck that I might have gone a little overboard. I listened to those that said problem free notes are the way to go...so how did I do? there are 4 notes in all. the last one is below.

I might have jumped the gun on a BIN for the eagle. they listed it is VF+ I thought it might be XF so I grabbed it for $209. the north Africa $103 (prior to being damaged). $123 for the Hawaii. and $124 for the 1917.

So, paying a little more for something you really like and want is quite acceptable to a real collector. I say, very nice pick-ups Bryant.

Looks like you did well for yourself and always buy the best quality you can afford at the time. RESEARCH the ones you want first and don't get worried about losing out there are tons of notes out there. You get to use the databases out there we never had in the past. BEST OF LUCK!

An exceptional note that isn't quite EF
Like the difference between VF-25 and VF-35 coin grades

bryantallard, you seem to have done your "homework" and learned your lessons well! Congratulations on your acquisitions. I can only speak for myself but it is satisfying to see
someone who asks, listens, learns, is patient, then goes for the prize.

Also, did you get a partial refund on the damaged note? You can start a not as described complaint if you receive a coin/note that has damage not in the pics or stated.

when you say centering you mean as in "directly in the middle with all edges the same width and all that" right? the rev does not look anywhere close to the center. or am I misunderstanding?

originally he said I could return it for a refund but I told him I would be good with $10 back which he gave without a problem.
