First Spouse coins available to order

This listing wins the grandiosity prize. Interesting that this seller has 10 sets of 4 coins plus 8 individual coins. 48 coins in all. More than double the mint limit. I doubt he bought the extras on Ebay.

I have noticed some sellers selling more than the 20 limit as well. I see the mint possibly lowering the limit to one coin per person next time around. I know this will not stop many people from getting more than one but that would cut the 48 coin seller to around 12. Not that there is nothing wrong with turning a quick buck, but the mint needs to lower the limit so the collector who wants the coins has a better chance at getting one at cost.

Just my 2 cents, worth about a cent and a half.

 

saw an ebay auctions where one person bought one proof martha for $760 and was the high bidder at $810 with about 5 hrs. left. Just curious how many of these purchases are by collector. Think maybe another couple of weeks will tell.

 

Update: This seller now has listed 4 20-coin sets, 4 4-coin sets and 12 individual coins; a total of 108 coins. More than 5 times the mint limit.

 

My uncirculated (did not order any proofs)spouse coins are now backordered til 7/10. Order in process. Ship date moves back one day everyday. Not looking good. I was one of those on the waiting list.

 

well i have one of those on the waiting list too. i just ordered extra coz i was afraid the mint would cancel the orders like they did with the subscriptions if i get one extra then off they go on ebay

 

I'm not on the waiting list and my ship date moves back one every day also, so that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

 

hopefully i get mine tomorrow anyone received their coins as yet?

 

My email receipt from the mint is dated 12:28 and originally stated backordered until 7/4/2007 and my order has been steadily moved back a few times now currently at 7/10/07.

I ordered 1 of each in proof. Boy I wish I woulda ordered more. I wonder why since I had a fairly early order why it is pushed back so long.

I'd love to know the unc pr breakdown on these coins.

 

They must only be up to about 12:15 to 12:20 or so in filling orders because no one with an order time past that seems to have been filled yet.

 

I'm sure equal numbers of proof and unc will be sold since they were ALL sold. It was previously revealed that mintages were equal between proof and unc. for all issues.

For some reason, there are more sales of proofs. As of yesterday, the Ebay completed sales of single coins were 72 proof vs. 41 unc. This doesn't count sets of 4 which are obviously 50:50. If you include the 124 coins from 31 sets of 4, the breakdown would be 134 proof and 103 unc.

 

They are not i ordered 11:12 ct and my order has not shipped yet

 

Did you order proof or uncirculated? It sounds like the proof are the first to ship so those of us with uncirculated orders may have to wait it out a bit.

May as well get used to the shipping dates getting pushed back one day as every day passes for the people who orderd later. Mine is now backorderd until 7/12 now. Seeing a pattern here. I really do not think I am going to get these coins. Order #254361xx. Just have to wait it out!

there were be no key date for this series. every spouse mintage is 40,000 maximum. every spouse seem to be sell out in the future due to limited quantity. beside that, if this coin is really good. why it is so many sellers at the e-bay site.?. this is no match against reverse proof of american eagle gold at 10,000 mintage. see price of these gold coin to drop substantially soon.
