As usual, i did my research AFTER buying the coin...Far as i can tell Commodus minted 3 Sestertii with Hercules/lion motifs. Apparently he fancied himself Hercules re-incarnated. The one i got seems to be the scarcest of the 3 going by coinarchives. </p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Oh yes, pity we need to wait another 6 weeks for the next one!</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Scottish, you would love it at these shows. Row upon row of of European coinage from 20+ centuries of history. What i miss though are the U.S coins...they seem to have dried up in Europe. Never been to a show in France, but quite a few in the UK, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
