Post below the first set you ever completed and when you completed it. Mine's the Fifty State Commemorative Quarters .
WOW! Stroll down memory lane for me! That would have to be the Whitman Number 2 Blue (Remember them?) Lincoln Cent folder. 1941 - Present (Late 60's early 70's). The entire collection except the 1943 Steels (later aquired through Littleton) was found through circulation! I was hooked for life! Steve
Washington Quarters, clad 1965-1998. Follwed closely by Washington Quarters, Silver 1932-1964. I still remember deliberating whether or not to spend what I considered to be a small fortune at the time to buy the 32 D and 32 S.
Well the first set I ever completed I would have to say on my own 1974-2010 lincoln cent album pds. I regret opening proof sets ..try to avoid it. then move to rosy dimes, and completed my mint set run to current.. along with the state quarters.. canada silver maple leaf , mexican libertad set. Then I stopped everything ands started collectting certified lincoln cents.. and that's were I am at now
I completed a few Whitman folders of Roosevelt dimes in 1970. I completed a Dansco Jefferson album with the purchase of a 1938 D earlier this year. I am hoping to complete the 1932-64 Washington quarter set this coming year by acquiring the 32 D, when I find the one I want.
I'll let you know when I complete one. I've only been collecting for 45 years and these things take time...
I finished the Jefferson nickels back in high school, but it is a continuing process, as they are still being made. Very affordable to assemble the series.
Washington Quarters 1965-1998. I have 20+ sets started/near completion, but i like to try to find the coins in circulation if i can.
Jefferson nickels 1938 MS & Proofs / Roosevelt dimes 1946-to 1964 silver set / Franklin halfs MS Unc. set
American Silver Eagles (1986-2010) When i was a kid i had a complete kennedy half set ... but I stopped collecting them in 1974 (so it's not complete anymore)
Lincoln cents 1941-present/state quarters. Can't remember which order those came in. Last set I finished was my 20th century type set. Its my favorite.
sighs...I wish I could finish my barber half set as soon as I can but them key dates are killer....hard to find slabbed examples.. while remaining on a budget...congrats to everyone who completed their series=) -acsf89
i think theres other factors when trying to complete a set of large cents. ive never completed any sort of set myself. when i was a kid i wanted to but now i just want a few nice pieces out of some sets. most of the sets i would want to complete would be out of my price range. also great stuff cringely
