I bought a sealed Loomis $500 box of halves- just finished going through them and didn't find a single 40/90 Kennedy. No Franklins or Walkers either obviously- YouTube makes it seem so simple. I guess I should actually look at dates- but I just looked to see if there was a copper band on the edge. Everyone of them had one. The ones where it was questionable I pulled and looked at the dates but I think the earliest date I saw was a 71. I think I'm going to look through them a second time more closely but I don't think there's anything in that box.

How common is it to strike out completely as I have. When you guys find silver halves searching rolls, do you find them in every box or is it common to not find any in some boxes. I was surprised at how circulated and dirty the halves were since I haven't seen halves in circulation in forever. The Subway wouldn't take them when I tried to buy lunch. As soon as I find a good way to sell the ones I have I'm going to try again.

I have a box of quarters and nickels too. I'm looking for some 2019 Ws and I don't know why I got the nickels. I think it was just a matter of being at the bank and it was like, "Well, since I'm here I might as well get a box of nickels." I think it'll be fun to go through- at least once.[/QUOTE]
