Thanks umtrr-author - It sound like many people complete the Jefferson set first, which makes sense. Which set(s) do you plan to start working on? Thanks Speedy. I think I'll go back Thursday and look through the quarters. I've started looking at Heritage and Harlan J. Berk for the 32-D and 32-S. I may be able to pick one of them (probably the 32-S) up in the near future. I hear ya EdsCoin. I had planed to finish the set with coins I found, but got the itch to finally finish a set and caved in. Good luck and I hope you are able to eventually pull the last 2 you need from a roll or your pocket. Frank - with the 32-S having a lower mintage and a lower price it will probably be the first one I buy.
Just from what I've seen in the past, I would try Heritage before H. J. Berk....I've heard both good and bad about him but what gest me most is that his key dates seem to always be raw. Let us know when you get one!--being the lowest mintage I think it is a cool coin! Speedy
I'll probably watch Heritage for one. Is it possible to get a good deal on Heritage or are there too many collectors bidding to slip in a good buy? I went back and looked through the quarters at the Antique shop. The guy had a bunch of Washington and Standing Liberty quarters. I bought 7 Washingtons in G to XF for $2.25 each and a 1929 Standing Liberty in G/VG for $2.75.
You aren't going to get a "heck" of a deal on Heritage but you are going to get a good normal price..... If you buy on ebay, then you can find some good ones on there too...I keep my eye open for a few coins on my list of favoritie coins...and the 1932-S quarter is one. Speedy
