Hurray for coin shows. I love them. Of course around here there are just to many. We have a minimum of three coin shows a month within 12 miles of my house. I go to them all. Then there are the occational semi annual or annual coin shows around here also. Some are OK and some are just to big. The international ones really stink. At those if your not buying something in the thousands, people appear to smirk at you. Might be my imagination. All of the ones around here have free admission, free parking, high food prices and lots of nice people. The big shows charge to get in and charge to park and the food cost even more.

Now as to prices at a show. Never pay what the dealers are asking for a coin. If they won't play the hagle or chew down price game, I walk away. If you find a dealer that is really giving you what you think is a good deal, ask for a business card just to see if he is in this business or just a one night stand type person. Regular dealers, if you get to know them, will usually drop the prices down for you if your a regular customer. Talk to all the dealers as much as they will allow. This makes them remember you better. Ask lots and lots of questions not only to learn but to see it the dealer knows what he is talking about. ONe thing I've noticed is if you get to know a dealer you can actually put in requests for some coins you may want and at a price you are willing to pay. They usually have more sources than the average person.

I don't know what your coin shows are like but if the food is anything like around here, eat before you go or wait till later to eat.
