    @Bradley Trotter As it is a Trade Token issued in 1863 (As per your Numista search) I guess that doesn't apply.

    Trade tokens were issued in times of shortage of circulating legal currency. My small library of Trade Token and Civil War Token reference books by Rulau cover 1845-1900, so either this was in direct contravention to Laws issued by Congress or it didn't apply to tokens
