Well, after almost 40 years collecting, I have finally finished my second complete set. I have been collecting for years using the ADD method... never focusing on any one thing. When I finished my ASEs last year, the feeling was so good, I started more sets in Danscos. I still do the ADD thing and tend to collect whatever comes my way at the right time, however, I have been focused on making sure to fill my Danscos. Today I finally filled the last holes in my 1938-2011 Jefferson (w/proofs) Dansco! Amazing feeling of accomplishment. I say I'm 'sorta' finished because there are 3 holes that have circulated coins. There is a coin show this weekend, and I hope to upgrade those 3 holes to match the rest of the set. All but those 3 coins have great eye appeal. I don't worry about how many steps, or what the exact grade is. All I worried about on these Jeffs is that they look AMAZING when you open the book. For all I know, they could all be MS60 in technical grade, but man are they great looking in the album. I picked flashy examples... electric blue toning, rainbows, champange golds, blue/green proofs that bring a tear to your eye. Not a problem coin in the bunch. Anyway, just wanted to share my joy. ;) I'll have to keep my fingers crossed to find the 3 upgrades as nice as the others. They are the tough years... 39-D 39-S and 42-D I had an NGC MS-67 1939-D in my hands this morning... but at $250 bux, just to break it out and put it in the Dansco... um, nope. I'll find some raw ones this weekend (knock on wood).
