Why ? It's perfectly fine where it is, and quite appropriate to the topic at hand.

    o_O

That's something that always gets me. Ya see, one of the most common, if not the most common, Reports there is - is for double posts !

But yet, the members who report double posts more often than anyone else, are also the same members telling other members to post their threads elsewhere. As I said  o_O

Yes it's in line with the thread and yes the op gave permission but it would not be a double post.

If the member posted a fingerprint coin in a fingerprint thread that's fully acceptable and not hijacking but they would get a larger response from members about the coin they started a new thread.

I for one would like to see full photos of both sides and hear more about this coin.

Now that Mint employee could easily be identify. Their fingerprints are on file in the FBI's civil division, not criminal division. Although that fingerprint should be a crime! :hilarious: ;)

Boy, I bet you MOD's know who all your chronic reports and complainers are! You guys probably cringe when they pop-up on-line or if it's a Friday night and a full moon, all the nuts come out! :D;)

Pretty sloppy for a mint employee to not wear gloves and eating something greasy to leave that ugly fingerprint

Undoubtedly the Philadelphia mint! Known for poor quality control. ;)

The op's coin is a Denver Quarter. Even more surprising isn't it? But you're the op so which coin are you referring to? :rolleyes:o_O

So the truth finally came out. It's painfully obvious at this point, I don't collect Ike's. :)

I posted this in the other thread, but I'll post it here, too, since this thread is actually about fingerprints. Since the GSA coins were handled only by people wearing gloves when being packaged, it's quite possible that this fingerprint is from a CC mint worker in 1883. Adds a little coolness factor to offset the fact that the coin has a print.

Obviously no gloves were worn when the Ike was packaged.

Perhaps not in your mind, but I guarantee you it would be in somebody else's. I see it happen every single day, often numerous times every single day !

Yeah, we know who they are. But no, we don't cringe at all. Quite the opposite in fact. We are EXTREMELY GRATEFUL for each and every report we get ! Making a report is in my opinion the single most helpful thing a member can do for this forum ;)

The thing I was trying to point out in my comments is two fold. One - established members are trying to be helpful to new members by telling them to make their post in a different forum section. But what they don't tell them is to do that the next time they make a post !

As a result, the new member, usually not having any idea how the forum works, follows the advice given them, and creates a double post by doing exactly what they were told to do.

Then, sometimes, the very same person, who told the new member to make that 2nd post in another forum section, reports that very post for being a double post ! I mean - :wideyed: o_O  But even if it's not the same person - somebody else will report it as being a double post ! And it's all because the new member does exactly what they were told to do.

So c'mon folks, I know your intentions are good, you ARE trying to be helpful. Not only to the new members but the mods as well. But let's try a different tack here - when you tell a new member to create their own thread - also make sure to tell them to do it that way the next time they post !

By doing that, you will double up your help to the new members and the mods both ;)

we now return you to our regularly scheduled programming :)

Very helpful feedback, brilliant synopsis! icon_smile_thumbsup.gif

Fortunately or unfortunately, you won't be hearing from me regarding reporting or complaints. My sense here is, you have plenty of people doing that. ;)
