My wife was in a village in the foothills about an hour away visiting with a client who would like us to market his property. On the last Saturday of each month there is an organised table top sale in the village square. After coffee they were wandering around the various offerings when these coins caught her eye. She offered 1 Euro for each, seller agreed and said she might as well have this book as well which is in pristine condition. So, 2 Euros for this lot is a bargain and I share them with you here

Yes, for an area of SE Spain not normally on the tourist trail for Americans or of them owning properties around here. For these to be on a table of an elderly Spanish in a village with hardly any foreign nationals in it is amazing, unless her husband was a coin collector of course.

Great find and thanks need to be given to your wife. Always nice to have family support in the hobby.

The Bicentennial coins were so exciting to me as a youngster. I was coin crazy and it was so exciting to see these turn up in my pocket change. Very cool score!
