Just two days ago, I went to a store to get $2 in quarters. SEVEN of the eight were clad proofs in nearly pristine condition (from the state quarters series). And the cashier had several more in his drawer. I've kept them so far.
Incredibly, I have never encountered a proof coin in circulation. It never ceases to amaze me how many people do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I get them pretty regular every two or three years. I'd guess about 20% have circulation damage but most of them were culls.
I've pulled a proof Millard Fillmore prez dollar and a 1973-S proof Eisenhower (clad) from circulation.
