The first one I bought on ebay advertised as a 2 pence came in and it weighed 28 g so I complained to the seller and he apologized, refunded and said keep the coin. I then bought a "real" 2 pence. I would love to have a 1797 1/2 pence to go with them
Av (avoirdupois) is the scale used to weigh bananas and cheese - 28.35 g to the ounce and 454 g to the pound (16 ounces), while the Troy ounce is used for precious metals - 31.10 g to the ounce, but 373.24 g to the pound (12 ounces)...confusing enough? That's why science uses grams. Interestingly copper is weighed by the AV system.
Hot Damn won big brother too for 60 (same seller hehe, don't think he's gonna like me much if I keep low bidding his auctions lol) Not quite as nice as the 1p but I still think I did damn well on this one too 11 leaf I believe as well
For that you would have to get a Conder token. There were no Regal 1/2 penny coins struck between 1775 and 1799.
