Got my first official "big two" TPG graded coin a couple days ago. I've been bidding on quite a few but always seem to value them lower than anyone else.

Pardon me for my ignorance, but what are the "big two"? It's a wonderful medal, congratulations!

By "big two" I assume that you mean NGC and PCGS.

That’s a nice piece of exonumia,@ZoidMeister, I’d sure love to have that in my collection.

I wish the Mint had used that design instead of this one...

Yup, exactly. I only own one PCGS slab. It holds a SAMPLE 1964 Roosevelt dime. This was my first NCG.

The market right now is flooded with ANACS graded medals and exonumia items.

I've got a few more to share . I've been on quite the Heraldic Art acquisition tear of late. Pristine raw examples with original documentation are pricey enough, but if they're slabbed, fuggetaboutit . . .

I've been collecting medals, both foreign and domestic, for about 30 years. My favorite American private mint is Medallic Art Company (MACO) sometimes known as Medallic Art Company of New York (MACONY). They are no longer in business.

A while back, when silver was $7/oz, I bought a set of twelve (12) sterling silver Franklin Mint medals entitled "The Scout Law". As an Eagle Scout, they each hold a special meaning in my life.

ANOTHER of the "Big Two" TPG graded slabs arrived today, and ANOTHER FIRST!

    Woo Hoo!

    This is my FIRST ICG Slabbed medal . . . . .

    I'm in the high cotton now guys . . . I wonder if @Insider physically touched this one. That's better than a green bean on the holder . . . . .

If so, I think it can be safely sterilized with a Clean Wipe. LOL
