I also aimed for variation in color and toning pattern. This set took me four years and many PCGS submissions to complete, which speaks to the difficulty of locating premium toned examples of all dates despite the ready availability of high grade blast white examples. Some of the most common dates (e.g., 1960 and 1964) proved to be the most difficult for me. I could have completed this set many times over with sub-par examples, but I have been a perfectionist in looking for unique examples that fit the theme.</p><p><br /></p><p>In the process of completing this set, I accumulated a number of duplicate toned proof Roosevelt Dimes. Many of my duplicates have wilder toning or are numerically finer than those in my registry, but did not fit as well with the overall theme of my set.
