Finally took the initiative and bought the last coin I needed for my Dansco gold type page. The last coin I needed was a type 3 gold dollar and I found one that suited what I was looking for pretty good. First semi toned gold coin as well(doing a high grade type toner album, gold is the hardest to find toned along with some of the earlier coins. Anyway some pictures as that is what everyone loves the best. With this page out of the way I can now more vigorously focus on some of the other pages that aren't quite as filled up.
I took this photo before I bought the last piece I needed. WIll update this picture. Fully loaded! Love how this page looks!
This makes me drool. I miss my old Dansco type set. I had the gold page nearly filled once (was only missing the $10 lib and $2.5 indian), but when we moved I sold the whole lot to pay for moving/home purchases.
Very nice! I've never done Type Sets but always thought about it. Still working on all the other stuff. Great looking Gold Coins and what a great way to finish off the page.
Nice set! Are all the gold coins toners, too? I recently asked a dealer who specialises in toned coins and who carries 3 or 4 cases of high-end toners to shows on a regular basis if he ever came across toned gold. Even he doesn't see them often, but I suppose it could get easier when you only need a handful of them to begin with.
It's a 1831..haven't really looked at the die pairings for this coin yet. Everyone else, thanks for the kind words.
Oh you're right that is a small letters reverse. Looks like a nice grade. Love the toning on that new gold dollar as well.
Thanks everyone! The person who asked about the toned gold. The only one I really have right now is the type 3 gold dollar. Toned gold isn't exactly easy to find, and when I do find them the price tags are a little too much for just a tad bit of color.
Where do you put them, without completely altering the physical construction of the page, with the slides and such?
