Filled s mint mark on 1977 and 1978 Jefferson nickel proofs.

Discussion in 'Error Coins' started by willard t frye, Nov 6, 2015.

  1. I purchased several Jefferson nickel proofs and found that all of the 1977 and 1978 coins have filled s mint marks. They are filled so bad that the s curves in upon itself and the marks look more like eights instead of sevens. Is this normal for those years. If not I will post pictures and get some comments from the experts. They look even worse than the 1979 s filled s type 1.

Paddy, how can you say that it is not normal? You know full well that dozens of people post threads without photos.
