I just learned something new today! I can't believe that I didn't know about this man before. Does anyone know much about William Barber, William Barber (engraver) - Wikipedia. BTW: Keep an eye out for tonight's NEW thread, " Charles E. and William Barber Wednesday!". So, git those coins and medals ready!!
Sal. Why are you so harsh on yourself? The title of this thread should of been Feeling Smarter! Come on buddy, you learned something new so be excited about it! Please don't do that again
Don't feel bad, Sal. Despite 48 years in this hobby, I did not realize there was more than one mint engraver named Barber, until just now when you posted your thread and included those Wikipedia links.
Numismatics is too big to even come close to knowing everything. Last I heard the ANA library had 40,000 books. If you read a book a day from your first breath it would take 109 years. Even Eric Newman would fall short by a few years. Hey, maybe somewhere in that library there's an answer to whether Barber is depicting a male or female on his coins?
A cello and a flute in a Rolling Stones song seems kinda weird. Although I heard Brian Jones was pretty handy on a dozen musical instruments.
My barber was Orlando. I only mention that because he’s dead, too. He was also Tony Accardo’s barber, who’s also dead, BTW. But you could book horses, there, even though Hawthorne and Sportmans Park were only a mile-and-a-half down 35th Street. If the FBI was there, then you couldn’t. If they were just parked across the street in their unmarked car, you could, though.
