I drive by the Ninth District Fed building everyday. Has anyone ever taken a tour of a Fed bank. Is it at all interesting? Any feedback ?

I think the Fed in New York offers tours, I don't know if the others do.

Did some searching and several of the others do offer tours including the Minneapolis branch (ninth district). Tours are by appointment They can be booked here http://www.minneapolisfed.org/about/locations/mpls/tourform.cfm In June July and August they have a tour every Friday, there is a link on that page for information about attending one of those tours.

Thanks for the info, I looked that up too, but I was wondering if it is worth an afternoon?

I took a tour of the Fed in Dallas a few years back (I drive by this building almost every day as well). I don't know anything about the availability or whether tours are open to the general public even in Dallas, let alone in Minneapolis. IMO, the best thing to do is to just call.
