Every history buff is familiar with Franklin Roosevelt's slogan, "The New Deal." It was the signature phrase for his administration from 1933 to 1936. Here is a political medalet that put that slogan into symbols. First the "mahogany finish" version. and the "yellow bronze" finish version. Theodore Roosevelt called his administration "The Square Deal." That phrase is less well known, but it did appear on some of his 1912 campaign items. He also used to the phrase when he help settle a coal miners strike in 1902 Here are a couple of them. I am not aware of a campaign token that included the slogan in its design.
Here is a token from Teddy Roosevelt's 1904 campaign that touted his role in settling the 1902 anthracite coal strike. He used the term "square deal" for the first time at the end of the negotiations. This piece is made of hard rubber.
