Sorry Bacchus. The Feds auctioned off the furnishings years ago to pay for Conforte's tax bill and last month somebody used a helicopter to move the buildings to another county. Mustang (the town?) is still there but no Ranch (per say).
Well..... I'm going to have to say that I dislike all the state quarters..... I got 3 unc rolls of them so far, but, that's it, just to pass onto kids, other than that.... Well, that's it..
I love the state quarters. I think that they are the best way to teach kids about the states at a young age and at the same time explain gimicks. If I offend any serious collector, well then sorry. But I always viewed the state quarters as a beginner's start in collecting and a great review of our great nation for the general population.
So far Im not truely Impressed by any,, but to choose from what is there, Illinois would be my choice.
North Dakota will be my favorite when it finally gets here as its got TWO BUFFALOS! Kansas would be second but when it comes to history, Massachuttes still gets my vote, as the Minute Man with the rifle says it all about the early colonies and their start!
1. Oregon - the scene is beautiful (though I liked one of the losing designs better as representative of the history of the state) 2. Maine - scene is beautiful and the lighthouse evokes so much about the dangers and beauty of the ocean and coast 3. Louisiana - map, music, and bird go together nice 4. Connecticut - the tree is so simple and yet complex
I still like Rhode Island. Why? Great design. Of course when Colorado is minted, Rhode Island becomes No. 2.
I'm going to keep this thread alive! The Nevada....I don't think I've seen one of those. Is it out? Hopefully someone will have some sense and mark it correctly>>>"CC"!!!!!!!!
On the old Coin World site there were some absolutely great designs for Nevada shared with us by a professional. I think a design has been selected, and it wasn't one of his. Maybe another past CW Forum member can refresh my memory. Those designs were super I thought.
For me it's a toss-up between the Delaware and the Connecticut. The revolutionary theme is great on several quarters, but that charter oak is a real beauty!
Tie at 1 and 2 for Wisconsin and Iowa 3 West Virgina 4 Tennesee 5 New Hampshire Least Favorite -- PA.
I'm gonna also say Oregon. I really like the scene, though Minnesota comes a close second. And I can't wait to see the AZ quarter.... Probably gonna be a saguaro with a holographic mirage to symbolize the ever present heat! ~AJ
Long live Elbonia!!! I'd have to say the Elbonia state quarter is my favorite so far...or at least it will be when it comes out. If you haven't seen the design yet, it is a bison chest deep in mud.
I'm with COIN STASHER on the Connecticut quarter. Others have had nice concepts and themes, but to me, the disign of the Charter Oak is just beautiful and none of the others have come close. I'd even be so bold as to say its the best looking reverse to be ciruclated since floating president heads started appearing on our coinage.
I would have to go for Minnesota as that could be me in that boat. I've been in that situation a thousand times with the loons and lakes. If I had a choice of any where to be I would chose the northwoods, winter or summer. I like the idea of the state coins and some of them are pretty good. Runners up for me are Vermont and Maine.
Another vote here for Connecticut. Not only does it look good in uncirculated AND circulated condition, but it also has something to do with the history of the state. That was supposed to be the purpose of the state quarters, to familiarize Americans with the history of the various states.
Amen its good to hear someone who knows how to enjoy the state as well as own the coin. 1. MN 2. WS 3. KS Course ND is not out yet. It would be #1.
