    thats good.

everything is cool over here in the VA, although our coin has been very disappointing to me. I would have like it better if they had a picture of the Seige of Yorktown or the Blue Ridge Mountains.

my favorite state quarter to date is Maine. I really like how simple the design is.

Hi miaione and welcome to Coin Talk. Maine is a favorite coin of one of my sons as well. He calls it the light house coin while here I am trying to get him to remember the names of the states. Oh well, he's only three so I guess it's ok if he also feels that the Maine quarter is worth more then other quarters but then again I guess he's developing a coin collecter's attitude. What do you think of the Ohio quarter and what type of coins do you collect?

Hey pog I also noticed that your location is ny as well. What a beautiful state New York is. Lived in the outer boroughs and Manhattan (New York) for most of my life but I used to love going camping/canoeing in Western New York. What parts are you if you don't mind the question?
As for Lady Liberty, For an ugly lady she sure is beautiful. I heard the artist used his mother for a model. Kind of strange if true for I always thought the best part of being an artist must have been those college coeds who love to pose.

Pog, Western New York- hey I went to Geneseo outside of Rochester and lived in Geneseo, Bativa, Rochester, and Canius Lake during my college years. Cold is so right and so is beautiful. Letchworth Park is an amazing place. My wife was new to this country and Liberty State Park was a great date for us when we first started dating. Thanks for sharing that.

Dr. Strangelove ,Vermont and then Conn., you must have a thing for trees. Then again you live in the nice part of the Garden State where there actually is plant life.

Yea, I do like trees. The Conn coin is so nicely done. The reverse of the Vermont coin looks like a scene I just want to step into. What perfect advertiseing for the Maple State.

My favorites are the ones that haven't had their designs fixed yet. There's still a chance that one of them may turn out well. :D

I also like the Connecticut coin the best. Not only is it an appropriate subject, but the minimalist and almost-Art-Noveau execution has special beauty.

Some of the themes are not up to the significance or quality contributions of the state. Astronauts born here? Helen Keller? The Wrights flew here for a couple of years? Not much to boast about.

I guess Alabama is proud of having a deaf, blind girl born in their state. Says something about their health insurance and prenatal care programs, I guess that is the best they can do. All seriously and stuff, She was a great person who overcame a living nightmare but I get your point that some of these State Quarters are pretty lame, no pun intended, while others seem to kick it right. Connecticut seems to be a favorite for all the tree huggers out their and those who took art history in school or something. I myself like the quarter with the gun on it so that says alot about me and yes that would be Massachusetts.

Oh by the way, welcome braincramp. Hope to see more postings from you dude.

Perhaps Alabama should have put Bear Bryant on their coin.

Maybe Nebraska will feature Bob Devaney or a football and a goalpost -- but they will probably do something lame like combining an ear of corn, a head of cattle, and a picture of a landmark like chimney rock. (I am originally from Nebraska, so I am allowed to make fun of them).

Regarding my adopted home, Connecticut, the story behind the tree (the Charter Oak) is very interesting, even if you are not a history buff. Attached is a link for your reading pleasure.....

My only dread is that California's quarter will show a bear chasing a gold miner through Disneyland while being filmed (in Technicolor and widescreen) from the deck of the Queen Mary.

Yosemite would be a good choice.

rbm86, now you talking religion on me. Great idea but I would have gone with Joe Willie Namath for the Alabama quarter.

Braincramp, that first idea would be pretty cool if they used a hologram for the 3-D affect. Now that would be a quarter to be proud of.

    1. Can't decide
    2. Texas or Kansas
    3. Then Connecticut
And, I thought Helen Keller had legs? Could be mistaken though.
