1. One of the most charismatic and capable Imperator's of the Roman Republic and the Second Triumvirate was Mark Anthony (although never Emperor). My favorite Imperator. 2. My favorite emperor would have to be Augustus followed very closely by Trajan and Antonius Pivs. Augustus may have been the most capable statesman of the entire Roman Empire, serving 41 years (27 BC- 14 AD). Antonius Pius served the next longest period of nearly 23 years (138 – 161 AD).
There you go with the goats, er, I mean animals again. I know the trophy wife is gone for the week, but, c'mon Jerry......
For Windchild: This one is a terrible shame since the legend you might like is off the flan at the bottom of the reverse and it is a fourree but it is my only Pompey. ...unless you count this portrait long after he died as issued by Sextus Pompey. Pompey may be a good person to study but there are few coins and none that come cheaply.
Trajan was a racist and an antisemite who went to war for the fun of it. Hadrian went nuts after his boyfriend Antinous offed himself and wound up being a second Caligula. The Best Emperor was Antoninus Pius, who ruled over an empire at peace and did everything right. My Favorite is Eligabaalus because he was a total nutcase and didn't kill that many innocent people.
