Favorite Dollar coin

I have to go with the Trade Dollar. It's a beautiful design, and a chop mark is always interesting to see.

Sackies, when new or naturally shiny, look like they are worth a milion bucks in REAL GOLD, although, sadly, they are not.

No not the current gold American eagle that was the finalized design. I was at the world’s fair of money in San Francisco (a total waste of money) last July I think it was July, (I am going by faulty memory here) but they showed a rendering of the original design submitted by the artist with the angle wings and the Native American head dress with the word liberty across the top of the head dress. That in my amateur opinion would make a great new coin with an original old design that was not used in its Entirety

 

That does sound great, certainly better than any of the current designs.

 

I might have already mentioned this, but: THE US MINT REALLY SHOULD PUT THE FLYING EAGLE BACK ON A COIN OF SOME DENOMINATION, BECAUSE I REALLY REALLY WANT THEM TO.

You mean like the 1986-2005 Gold American Eagles ?
