One that I have owned for about 16 years, still very raw(no plastic tombs) and my personal fave despite owning coins that are exponentially higher grades and prices: One of those pieces that I can actually hold, and feel the heft of it's weight and appreciate that she saw service during the presidency of George Washington.
Treashunt, I hope "Darkside" is also OK? As many have pointed out, it is really difficult to chose the coins (or coins) which I like most out of all of my collection. I like them all! But if I had to chose, these 3 would be at the top. These are 1 and 1/2 real coins from Chile, showing a pillar and a volcano - symbols of that long and mountainous country. Beautiful, symbolic coins in my opinion. Much like the FE cent symbolizes (IMO) America. The 3rd coin I would chose would be my 1794 LC S-24 in case, just because she has such lovely cheeks! therefore aptly called the 'Apple Cheek' variety.
Believe it or not....most of my favorite coins are foreign. I really love the obverse of this coin. The deep cameo effect is stunning against the "black" background.
i'm new to this site, so i don't have pics yet, but my fav coins are: 1806 draped bust cent, g 1904 indian head cent, ms62 brown 1906 indian head cent, ms 63 redbrown 1908-s indian head cent, vf 1908-s indian head cent, g (only because i got it for $0.75!!) 1909 vdb lincoln cent, ef
ok... here's one of my favorites. My photographic skills suck, but I will improve with a new camera. BTW, It's a D, and I can't find the pic of the reverse
I have a bunch of coins but nothing very high in value. Here are four of my favorites: 1803 Draped Bust Large Cent. I love the exceptionally clean surfaces on this coin. I didn't pay too much for it either! 1829 Capped Bust Half Dollar. I really like the toning, and natural aged appearance of this piece. Picked it up on Ebay at a nice price. King Hetoum I 1226-1270. This was given to me by an overseas relative when I was a child. King Hetoum I 1226-1270. Tram (dram). Also a gift from relatives overseas.
