GD, that is a fantastic coin! Is that a knight riding backwards on a horse?

 

The knight is facing the right way tcore,it appears he has an ale gut and it looks a bit like an ale butt.

Mine is also a repeat since this question has been asked before.It's a well known type of Greek/Roman tetradrachm,about the size of a half dollar and featuring Artemis aka Diana on a Macedonian shield.If you see a lot of pics of these on the web,most of the portraits of her are very plain or just ugly.This is the most beautiful I've ever seen.The reverse shows the club of Hercules in the center surrounded by a rope and oak leaves with the word Macedonia in Greek.To the left is a representation of a bolt of lightning.

 

Thought I'd show you a few examples of the plain-jane Artemis coins,and these are some of the better ones.

Always a tough question to answer... I have a few favorites, but if I had to single one out - it would have to be my 1776 guinea. It's my most recent significant addition. I had been looking for a decent grade guinea for years before I sighted this particular coin.

 

Well since I've posted in this thread last I think I have a favorite....but its not in my hand yet....so untill it comes its a 1909-S VDB PCI VF20!....but soon it will be replaced with a 1950 PF66 PCGS Half Dollar!!!!!!

Here are two ancients which I'm very proud of. Both I cleaned myself. The silver Antonious is Trajan-Decius and the Bronze Follis is Alexander II and Dionysus of Seleukid fame. I've been lurking here and there, speedy... But I've had some other things going on, which has taken up a bit of my time.

I have an 1885 gold dollar coin, graded by PCGS as MS67. I think it's my most valuable.

 

It's a tossup between my 1796 Quarter & 1796 Half - both XF40. Probably the half since it has 16 stars, the 16th for Tennessee, my home state.

 

Would have to add a new acqusition of mine, an 1875-S 20 cent piece, ANACS graded as EF-40. Both my first slabbed coin and my first 20 cent piece. (And to date my only in both regards). Love the histroy of the shoertest live US denomination, lol. Now if can just get a 1/2 cent will have all four of the defunct denominations under $1.

 

Currently my favorite is one of these two (it changes back & forth), these photos don't due them justice. About 2,300 years old from the city of Pantikapaion, a greek colony established about 2,600 years ago. Today Pantikapaion is known as Kerch, Crimea, Ukraine).

 

My favorite is one of my 1878 (VAM) Morgans, because I like Morgans, the age of it and the shape its in for its age and its uniqueness...

Moslty, It just amazes me that a coin of this age could be in this good of shape...

I have several others that I'm pretty fond of too... Not saying they are worth all that much, just that I lik'em....

 

Mine would be my 1881-S MS-68PL Morgan!

 

an 1852 large cent with a hole through the middle. My father found it nailed to the interior of an old barn when he was a kid. My grandfather gave it to me when I was about 10 along with 3 other cull large cents and 25 pounds of wheaties. I wear it on a chain to remind me of how I started collecting and why I love it so much.
