Love this coin, this is the look I go for with old gold for some reason I'm drawn to that yellow color on there. This is my favorite US coin and has some of that same color to it

Is the 1904 considered the best-looking of the Liberty DE's ? Latest technology and near-latest date so it's best preserved relative to earlier ones ?

Beautiful coins, BTW. There is no picture of my coin in the PCGS TrueView vault. :(

The 1904 is by far and away the most common of the $20 liberty heads. There are 5600 MS65's graded for 1904 at PCGS. I believe, but am not 100% certain, the 1900 DE is the next most common in gem and they've only graded 463 of them.

When I was looking for an example I was trying to avoid the 1904 for that reason but this one was just too nice to pass up, it's almost PL and has great surfaces and eye appeal.

Today, and every day since getting it in, this is my favorite. 20200115_220025.jpg 20200115_220041.jpg 20200115_220051.jpg 20200115_220110.jpg

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

Not really, it's more because the 1904 has a very high mintage compared to many other dates. Thus, there are more survivors in high grades.

I'm a fan of the 1904 $20 because it is by far the easiest to find in Prooflike! Here's mine, NGC 64 PL:

Favorite coin really depends on the day to be honest. My avatar is a blue beast and very enjoyable to look at. Lincoln wheats are my favorite to collect so I might as well show it off again.

This was taken after I cracked it from a PCGS questionable color slab.

    Now it resides here:

Undergraded which is typical of NGC and dark colored Lincolns. But atleast it straight graded.

I believe mine is a conservation away from being fully prooflike as well. It's not one I'm planning on selling anytime soon so I don't care to try it now but I'll eventually probably send it in for conservation to remove the light haze in parts and think after it will make it.

Here's a video where it looks like a DCAM in outdoor lighting: https://www.instagram.com/p/B4gBHY8gIb9/

I think yours is PL even without conservation. PCGS will designate PL on any deserving coin now, but it didn't when that was originally graded. Very nice!

I like the 1904s. Here’s a 1905 I added recently. Needless to say, it’s high on my list of favorites:

Santini, what made you grab the MS61 instead of checking to see if an AU58 was 95% of the look at 75% of the price (or something like that) ?

Because this coin is very scarce in all MS grades. It wasn’t easy to find in any decent grade.
