Hello CT! I am sure with all of the activity in this forum that this thread has been done before. However I figured it'd be fun and interesting. I have seen some PHENOMENAL coins in my short time here on the forum. In this thread, I would be interested in seeing your FAVORITE coin in your collection. This could be the most expensive, highest gradeg, greatest eye appeal, sentinemtal, etc. Let's seem them!
OK, I'll play. This 1939 Walking Liberty Half in PCGS Proof 67 CAC is part of my complete collection of the seven proofs in this series (1936-42). Average grade of the set is 65.14. This is one of my favorite coins. It is far better in person than my poor photograph would suggest. This is my first attempt to upload a photo so I may not get it right.
Proof Pennies and Cents are my favourite to collect but my two single most favourite single pieces are these two...
My favorite is the 2011 ASE from the 2011 Anniversary Set. I have 2 of them in WDDO-001. I have confirmation from James Wiles.
Mine is a tie fir the 1940D Semi-Key date I found i my change years ago that kicked me off in this hobby, or the 1905 Barber Quarter in this picture I picked up for less than 2$.
My favorite coin changes fairly often. I've got about a dozen that, depending on the day, I might say was my favorite. So, how about I post one that I haven't posted in a very long time: 1855 Braided Hair Half Cent, graded NGC MS-65 PL. This is the only known Braided Hair Half Cent in Prooflike condition, unique for the series:
I couldn't pick out my favorite coin if a gun was held to my head. Too many coins and too many choices.
No way to pick out my "favorite coin" as there are many that will try to vie for that title, but here is one I bought fairly recently from @lordmarcovan and it is an amazing beauty (and sort of a one-off for me from the usual culprits I seek). Japan (Meiji Era): silver and gold Nibu-Kin (2 bu), undated, ca. 1868-1869 AU55
My favorite also changes from time to time. Recently, I am into capped bust half. Like this one quite a lot, and I carry it with me outside during weekends. 1827 Busted Half, Overton 126 with square base 2. PCGS AU55.
