This is my first Sesterius. I've wanted to add some to my collection for sometime now. This one is just to get my feet wet so to speak. I found this one in a recent auction, with little competition I got it pretty cheaply. I have a Faustina I Dupondus coming soon but I have a feeling atributeing that one's gonna take a little bit of work. So I decided to go ahead and post my Faustina Jr. This girl tagged along with husband Marcus Aurelius on military campaigns. She's pretty worn and pretty big. This is now the biggest of my ancient coins. Faustina Jr, Augusta 146-175/76 AD Orichalcum Sesterious 30.9mm, 23.81g., Rome struck under Marcus Aurelius 161-175AD Obv; FASTING AGVSTA, Draped bust right, wearing double band pearls, hair waved and fastened in chignon low at back of head. Rev; MNO, Juno standing facing, head left, pater in right hand, long scepter vertical behind in left hand. Peacock at feet. S-C across feet at center. RIC III MA1645, SRCV II 5276 var. (stephane) Glossy green patina, chipped As always feel free to post your coins any coins. Welcome comments & criticism.
