http://new.lynknight.com/listitems....emType=AUCTION&CSID=360&category_id=1220&pn=2 More fancy serial number sets than you'll ever be able to afford. This has to be the most advanced fancy serial number collection of all time.
I'm not big on collecting by serial numbers, but that was my reaction. I haven't seen these types of ladder sets before:
I saw these in the catalog. Someone must have spent a lot of time going through packs of money to make these sets. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
Not too many years ago, the grandson of a (deceased) woman who lived in California received an envelope from the estate. In it, was a pair of Bicentennial $2 FRN's from the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank. Apparently, the grandmother had gone to the FRB the day that these were released, got the pair of brand new, crisp notes, and immediately stored them away in that envelope for 30+ years. The serial numbers were 00000001 & 00000002. The grandson consigned them to auction, and "01" sold for $27K and "02" sold for $9K. Granny was a pretty smart cookie! Chris
