so i have a ton of maples ive been buying from a local dealer and they all weigh in right but the sound they make screams fake. Like the ping is wayy off. Maybe its the density but ASE's ping much nicer. Anyone got tips on spoting fake maples.

Have you done a SG (Specific Gravity) test?

Google it. It is a simple test. You will need a good scale. The more accurate your scale the more accurate you can measure the SG of an item. Basically you weigh the coin normally and again suspended in water. A simple calculation will give you the SG. Then you can compare the SG you measure to the SG of a genuine gold bullion coin.

yeah my scale may be a bit off, I was doing some more searching and aparently they are too thick to get a pure sound out of them IDK i too tires to worry about this right now haha

Yea, a caliper and a troy scale. You can get the dimensions off the mints website. If you are buying from a local dealer, highly unlikely they would pass along fakes.

I agree probably not fakes. If you know the weight is right, get the dimensions. By doing this you are effectively doing a sg test, since if the weight and dimensions are right, the alloy has to be equal to silver. This is the problem with sg. Everyone thinks it proves something, all it proves is that the alloy is the same weight as silver, NOT that it is silver. Now I would doubt someone would go through all of that trouble for maple leafs, I am just throwing that out there.

For bullion, there is no PROOF unless a coin or bar is cut open and the eitire metal tested. Look at the fake gold bars found in China.

Edit: To the OP, how about going to another dealer and testing the "ring" of his silver maples? Lots of things can affect ring, it could be different planchet preparation and striking techniques used by the different mints.

i was playing with a 1993 eagle that i bought off a dealer last year and it does not ring at all, sounds like a lead clunk. it weighs and isnt attracted to a magnet, i know its real so i guess there is some silver that doesnt have that sweet ring.
