Well, this was before digital cameras even existed guys. And the gentleman in question now roams that great bourse in the sky. Among certain numismatic circles, his name would be recognized in an instant. But no, I will not tell you his name. On this one, you're just gonna have to take my word for it - or not.

Could I get an opinion on this Lincoln Proof? I've had it for quite a while, and wondered just how this happened. I know that some people use chemicals to create rainbow effects, but I just don't know if that may have been what happened to this one or not, or if there are some that might be this way without being treated. It's just blue and copper color.
    What do you think?

B-E-A-UTIFUL coin! I saw a rainbow toned lincoln in a 1957 double mint set at the local coin shop recently that was amazing with purples, greens, and red. :rolling:

Thank you very much! Makes me feel better about the coin. Yours has some awesome colors!

  10. Here is one that I owned raw, submitted for grading to PCGS.

It came back in a Body Bag for QT so I sold it raw as MS 64 BN.

The other day I saw it on ebay slabbed MS 64 BN by PCGS so bought it back!

I know it was not AT as I had a whole original roll of them, still have a few similar, some better but none with the truview pic's like this one.

I also had 2 graded by NGC 1 was MS 66 BN the other 65 BN then I sent 2 others a few months after NGC bagged them...

This MUST be artificially toned. Care to argue about it?

If that came back a stiff for the toning I don't know what PCGS was thinking. Those colors are infamous for those years, and they're all over the place, and can take any size and shape.

Now that's what I call a rainbow, I don't care if there's a slight chance it could be AT!!!

  18. The chemical MS 70 has discredited the Blue color the services are shy, they would rather bag it than take the risk even though it appears very natural.

I submitted two at a time, This one was the only one in the submission.

Cleaning your coins in Lysergic acid diethylamide is very dangerous and I do NOT recommend it.
