Listed for sale locally. Is it fake or real? According to the seller: The coin weighs 6.2 grams and measures 27 mm x 22 mm.
Local contemporary gallic imitation of a real coin. In short, the coin is an ancient knockoff of a real coin. If the price were right, I would get it.
This of course does not make it more valuable or less so. Its still ancient and very collectable, and even a popular type.
That depends on your preferences. If you just want a coin of the type or a slot filler then certainly go for it. I personally only collect official issues and don't buy local imitations. Though there is nothing wrong with them.
Depends on what you consider a 'real coin'. I am certain it likely circulated right alongside mint issued coins, so in essence its the same. But that (along with value) is an individual matter.
Thanks. I might place a bid on it. The current maximum bid is less than $3. The auction closes on January 5th.
Or perhaps the MUMPS! That be a nasty childhood disease, but for an Adult, it can be brutal. Glad when it was over-with when I was a child with them!
