    Date and MM are wrong.

Definite fake as MM is totally wrong and date looks off too , though I haven't checked it . Also the details look too soft for a CC coin .

The seller has 100% feedback and doesn't appear to be a coin dealer. I would contact the seller and let them know your concerns.

Thanks so much for that. I hope that this counterfeit can be taken down.

Not even close it being authentic. A poor copy. I will reiterate-- don't even consider better date Morgans that are not certified. That is a good date.

Yeah--of the little I know about Morgan $1, the CC isn't even close:

I contacted the seller with my concerns. The seller is very nice and agreed to pull the listing.

Just swing this thread, but I contacted him earlier as well. I felt bad for delivering the news as he really did seem like a nice honest seller who got taken on that one.

CC's are the most counterfeited ones.

Either only buy a CC from a reputable seller or go into a local shop for one.

I agree, he probably did not know he had a fake coin or knew little about coins and sold it innocently.

Also remember while this coin is a definite fake , you have to consider that if the MM doesn't match it still may be a real coin . For the '80-CC two size MMs were used as small and a large . So it must be checked against both . Though in this one the shape of the MM is wrong too .
