It's definitely a very worked over Cent - I think that kind of wear is unlikely from circulation alone. In that condition it's hard to know if it's fake and, honestly, it might not even matter either way. If it has the rough dimensions of a Cent, the weight will probably be a bit off, then it was probably a genuine Cent from circulation that someone had some fun with.
if it's a real coin. 1943 copper cent,, even in about good condition, it's worth alot of money. weigh the coin, and take a magnet to the coin also..
A 1948 copper Wheat Cent. It's damaged and worn from circulation but it's real wand worth face value. Welcome to CT.
Appears to have the reverse purposely removed, maybe ground off, and then rubbed continuously to smooth it out. Curious to say the least, but only the person that did it would know why. Welcome to CT BTW.
Looks like a dryer coin. Worthless. It's not 1943 as the 3 hangs down very low on that date. And your date even though circulated you can see they are all on the same plane.
I was thinking that it is 1942.5 ! ~ Chris By the way @New jersey , welcome to the neighborhood and Happy Birthday!
