Fake 1909-S indian head?

    The S mintmark looks fishy to me. Anyone else agree?

    I agree. Can you post a photo of the entire reverse (and obverse too if possible)?

    For the detail (lack)on the coin you would expect to see more contact marks, nicks , and scratches.

    Fortunately I was able to tell it was a phoney before I bought it, but it was part of a package deal with the 1858 Flying Eagle double date in my other post, an MS60 1869/9 (Cleaned) "certified" by a TPG I've never even heard of and can't even find on Google, and a 1936 Washington Quarter (for some reason). For the price I paid I think it was worth taking a risk on the 1869/9 and the Flying Eagle paying off.

    Speculator? You bet I am.
