How many chickens do we have running around here?
...I thought "HERE" represented what was in the picture, guess not, but I still say there is none running in the picture.
Out of the 12 laying hen's do any of them lay doulbe yolk egg's?

 

Sorry if you were confused. "Here" meant our little farm, 50 acres. Sometimes we get double yokers. Now that it's the fall we only get about 6-9 eggs per day. More than enough for us.

This chicken in the picture...is she a mixed breed? Or is there a name for that type? This year I got a number of pullets, one of which turned out to look exactly like the chicken I circled in your picture. She was sold as a Buff Orpington, and looked just like it untill about two months ago. That's not a Faverolle is it? I cannot see whether or not she has feathers on her feet in the picture.

 

You got me. I bought chicks last in 2004 and they were mixed straight run.

Thanks for the contest Ben. That was actually quite fun guessing in the dark. I would have replied sooner, but have been quite busy this week trying to get caught up on some fencing and dealing with all the other stuff going on around here. I am hoping to get my goat home by friday. Gonna go out now and try to finish up the wall in the barn to keep her from taking over the whole barn.

Bonedigger, I got the coin today. Thank you. It is the first "Fake" coin in my collection (That I know of). Now I'll have to buy a real 1890-O and compair them side-by-side.
