I'll guess 43 chickens. I, myself have a few dozen assorted chickens, ducks and geese, they're great fun, and a good source of protein.

Here's a picture of my rooster, he is one of the finest roosters I have ever had the pleasure to have in my coop. White crested black Polish.

These pikers have no idea what's on a chicken ranch.

    123 would be a good start. :D

Are you suggesting or stating that Bonedigger has a "chicken ranch".

If Bonedigger isn't a chicken rancher maybe he would like to share some information like:

    How many in your household?
Do you market or share your eggs?
How many pounds of feed to you purchase monthly if any?
How many different breads of chickens do you have and what are they?
Do you raise chickens for eggs only or do you eat them also?

Sorry for some many questions, I just got carried away. We raised chickens when I was growing up. We had Rhode Island Reds, 6 hens one rooster and the four of us had more eggs then when could eat. Beside their dung was miracle grow for the garden.

Well, mostly the hair detail looks like the 1921's, as well as the shape of the eagle's breast. If you found a 1921 picture, and placed it next to the counterfeit, as well as another date morgan, I suspect you would be able to see the resemblance. I was told or read (can't remember which), that the reason that the 1921 Morgan's looks so different, is that when they went to produce dies for the 1921 morgans, they had none left from previous years, and George Morgan's eyesight was failing. As a result, the newly made dies were not more exact.

Coops, hmmm they roost in the rafters of the (1) barn if that's what you are asking. I muck it out (clean)once every year during the fall. Just did it a few weeks ago as well.

    Good luck tomorrow everyone.

Bonedigger, when you give the answer tomorrow will you make sure and let us know how many hens and roosters their are?
Also.... how long have they been there? Do many of the pullets survive the wild?

I sure will. The total varies every year. We've had the birds since 1989 and every other year or so I go and buy a few straight run chicks at the feed store to replenish the stock. This year we did have some that hatched from a nest I couldn't locate :) They looked like barred-rocks, not sure where those came from and our nearest neighbors don't have any. We had some pheasants but they flew off or the wild animals got em, either way they're history now and I do enjoy hunting the wild ones ;)

    Take Care

With the chickens running around all over the property, do they lay their eggs in the same area most of the time? Or is each day an Easter egg hunt?
