Again this seller is either a liar or an idiot, take your pick. I guess it's technically only a scam if someone is dumb enough to fall for it.

There's just no way a coin genuinely that old would have that much luster left... at the very least it would have toned some. Though I think it is more likely a replica than a fake (distinction being that I don't think it was made with the intent of having someone believe it to be real). Maybe the seller honestly doesn't know it's not real. Guess it's not that much of a defense to say maybe the seller is an idiot rather than a liar, lol, but guess it's a possibility. Though the 0 feedback buyers seem suspicious. Out of curiosity I looked up the values of this coin, if genuine... according to the 2006 Red Book it would be worth $18,000 in AG-3... $375,000 in MS-60... in November 1995 a gem BU of this sold at auction for $577,500. If I had this coin, even in low condition, I'd spring to have it authenticated and graded, and if I were inclined to sell it, certaintly wouldn't put it on eBay with no reserve, lol. Again this seller is either a liar or an idiot, take your pick. I guess it's technically only a scam if someone is dumb enough to fall for it.
