I want to complete(almost) my lincoln cent collection. I am lacking a 1914 d, and of course the 09 s vdb. Any ideas what I might pay at a coin shop for a hole filler, uncertified 14 d? Any input appreciated

$60-$80 for about good to good. Be careful, a lot of counterfeits.

I think about $100 for mine. It is probably a G-8. I got my SVDB here on this site from a member about three months ago. I think I paid him about $700 for it. Of course, I also got an Indian Head 1877, 1922 No D, and a 3-Legged Buffalo, all slabbed, at the same time. So, he cut me a bit of a deal.

Funny my collection is missing those same two holes. :)

Make sure there is NO VDB on Lincoln's shoulder on the 1914-D. I've seen altered 1944-Ds that forget about that one little detail. From 1910 to 1917 there were no VDB initials anywhere on the coin. They were put on the shoulder in 1918.

I was missing the same 2 as well. Then got this damaged 14 D for $40 as a hole filler. I matched the MM with justafarmer's overlay. Polish_20210109_224613769.jpg

Well, pulled the trigger, looked at several at a couple of local coin shops. Paid.$150 out the door. Looks good on my 50 year old whitman book
