I do it as I read the paper. Then the pages get put into a box until I have time to file them by subject like Conservation, Grading, Varieties, Errors... I think we have reached the time when our files will become obsolete as everything will be uploaded to the Internet.
Yes, the ANA put every issue of The Numismatist online for members. Fully searchable and no paper involved. At some point members will wonder why they're keeping room fulls of paper copies. Other publications will probably follow suit someday. I will miss print, though it will likely linger on in niche markets. After all, if the vinyl LP can survive in the brutal digital world, then there's definitely hope for paper.
Sorry for my late response, but my mother subscribed to NN for me from 2004 to 2014 until her regretable death. I really enjoyed receiving those NN publications in the mail and even had one of my letters in the story of the week once, which felt like an honor to me.
You were lucky! As a gag gift for my birthday every year, my Mom got me a subscription to Playboy. Whenever I was dating a woman, I had to explain why I had them, and the woman would say, "Yeah, right!". Chris
You had no way of knowing. My Dad passed in 1997 and my Mom passed in 2006. They're both resting peacefully in Arlington National Cemetery. Chris
